 | I have met Kanan Devi at different functions. Once I was in Delhi to
receive some award and she was there also to receive the Dada
Saheb Phalke Award. As she ascended the dais her foot got caught
in something and she was about to stumble. I rushed to her and
saved her from the inevitable fall-she never spoke a word, but held
my hand firmly in hers with her eyes glistening. Her personality
always radiated such warmth. She will be remembered not only as a
good actress but as a fine person.
