teachers who must be husband and wife……. Unemployed youth Manas
(Jahar |

Ganguly)
and
fresh graduate Niharika
(KANAN)
desperately need the jobs and
bluff the |
|
elderly
couple and get the posts of teachers pretending to be man and wife…..Damodar |
|
and his wife
take a liking for the young couple and help them settle down …Manmoyee |
|
even rubs
some Sindoor on Niharika’s
forehead much to her discomfort as she is |
|
Christian by
faith. The school secretary Rajendra
(Mrinal Kanti Ghosh)
has his eyes
on |
|
Damodar’s
daughter Chapala
(Jyotsna Gupta)
and is more interested in winning her |
|
heart than in
school matters. Days pass and while Niharika maintains a safe distance |
|
from Manas,
he himself tries to be respectfully away from Niharika hiding his
feelings |
|
towards her.
Chapala is a frequent visitor to the fake couple’s residence and
apparently |
|
gets close to
Manas, who gives her music lessons as well……Niharika’s earlier |
|
reservation
about Hindu boy Manas disappears and she resents his closeness to |
|
Chapala-not
understanding Manas’ feelings towards her and is about to leave. |

Meanwhile
Rajendra finds the truth about the couple and informs Damodar and his
wife |

Haranidhi
(Kumar Mitra)
about Manas and Niharika not being married and |

about their
different religious faiths…….. |

The elder
couple rush to the younger couple’s residence to sort out matters but by

Manas and
Niharika have settled for themselves……….. |
